How do I create a custom board?

Tap the + button on the main screen. Add tiles with text, camera photos, or images from our built-in library. Boards save automatically to your device.

Does TinkySpeak work offline?

Yes. All core AAC features work completely offline — speech recognition (Vosk), text-to-speech, and all your custom boards. Only AI features like board generation need internet.

How do I change the language?

Go to Settings and pick your language from 65+ options. Free users choose any one language. Premium users can enable bilateral mode to show two languages side by side on every tile.

What is bilateral mode?

Bilateral mode shows two languages on each tile at the same time — English and Spanish, Mandarin and French, any combination. It's a Premium feature designed for multilingual families and ESL learners.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone/iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → TinkySpeak → Cancel.
Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → TinkySpeak → Cancel.
You keep Premium until the end of your billing period.

How do I set up eye gaze?

Settings → Accessibility → Eye Gaze. Position your device at eye level, calibrate with the on-screen guide, and adjust dwell time. Works with the front-facing camera on supported devices.

How do I set up switch scanning?

Settings → Accessibility → Switch Access. Supports automatic scanning (timed) and manual scanning (switch-activated). Works with Bluetooth switches and external input devices.

Can I share boards with other devices?

Yes. Export boards as .tinkyboard files and share via email, AirDrop, or any file sharing method. Premium users can also use QR codes for instant sharing and local Wi-Fi sync.

Does it work on Amazon Fire tablets?

Yes. TinkySpeak is optimized for Fire tablets with offline speech recognition and on-device TTS that works without Google Play Services.

What does the Board Builder do?

The Board Builder is a web tool that lets teachers and caregivers create boards on a computer and push them directly to a TinkySpeak device over Wi-Fi or via the cloud dashboard.
